Adopt an ant. Feed him, bathe him, keep him alive. Try not to be the reason he isn't.
Andy Ant is a single-glass-box virtual pet. You adopt a tiny, deadpan, philosophical ant, carry him home in a water baggie, and keep him alive in real time — feeding him before hunger runs out, running the bath at exactly the right temperature, playing fetch and jump rope, and decorating his tank from Aunty's Ant Stand. Every one of those four activities can also end him, and there are six documented ways to lose an Andy. Survive three whole weeks and he EVOLVES; lose him and the Andy Ant Store always has another, with different eyes.
It starts at the Andy Ant Adoption Center. You watch a short ad, pick one of three ants dozing in their boxes, and get a certificate with your new Andy's sequence number and eye colour. A friendly giant (you, technically) walks him home in a little water baggie and tips him into a glass tank with sand, a sprout, and a couple of starter crumbs. He introduces himself. He is now your problem, and he knows it.
Andy lives on the wall clock, not on play sessions. Hunger drains whether the tab is open or not, so an Andy left for days is an Andy in trouble. His age counts up as a live D:HH:MM:SS timer at the top of the tank — that number, in minutes, is your leaderboard score. The longer a single Andy survives, the higher you rank.
Two currencies. CRUMBS are the soft, in-tank currency — you earn one every two minutes you're actually tabbed in, plus more from caring for Andy and playing his minigames, and you spend them at Aunty's on food, furniture and sand. TIX (🎟 tickets) are your real Wow Cool World account currency, and they buy HATS — cosmetics that live in your account inventory and carry across every Andy you ever adopt.
The shop is a physical market stall run by Aunty Ant herself, who you can watch working the counter. Four shelves: FOOD and FURNITURE and SAND cost crumbs and only matter inside the tank; HATS cost real TIX and are forever. Some of the furniture is a genuine gag that can get Andy killed — the stand sells you the rope to hang him with and smiles while doing it.
There are six canonical ways to lose an Andy, each with its own secret achievement: starvation, a fatal fling, a boiled bath, a frozen bath's cousin, a AA battery, a ghost pepper, and a leap over the rim into the great outdoors. Discover all six and you earn 'Every Way There Is.' Other shop foods (a mothball, a wad of gum, a chocolate chip, the 500-crumb Poison) are also fatal — they just aren't part of the six-death set.
Keep one Andy alive for three whole weeks (21 real days) and he EVOLVES: he becomes nearly twice as big and takes on the colour of his own eyes. From there he can, in principle, live forever — or you can retire him and start again. Getting there is the game's true endgame, and it awards the legendary 'Evolution.'
Every adopted Andy rolls his own look: one of twelve eye colours (or, at 4%, a rare 24K Gold or Pearl eye), one of three subtle body shades, and a hidden personality trait that quietly changes how he moves around the tank. Rarer still: a 6% chance of heterochromia (two different-coloured eyes), and a 0.5% chance of a ghost-white ALBINO Andy with glowing red eyes.
When an Andy dies there's a funeral, and his portrait joins the memorial wall — a quiet record of every ant you've kept and lost, each with his number, his eyes, and how he went. Then the Store opens again. There is always another Andy. He has different eyes.
Andy AntYour ant. Every one of them is named Andy.HEROA tiny, articulate, faintly doomed ant with a dry inner monologue about love, mortality, and the giant who runs his life. He idles, backflips, does headstands, eats what he absolutely should not, and comments on all of it. Fragile by design — three days unfed, one bad bath, or one hard landing and he's gone — but survive three weeks and he becomes something more.
Aunty AntProprietor of Aunty's Ant StandALLYThe kerchiefed ant who runs the market stall where you spend your crumbs and TIX. You can watch her working her counter while you browse. She stocks everything a growing ant could want — the wholesome (moss, hammocks, fairy lanterns) right alongside the lethal (a toy hammer, a hamster wheel, a live firework), no judgement either way.
The unseen hand that adopts Andy, carries him home, drops the crumbs, runs the bath, flings him for tricks, and — statistically, eventually — is the reason a given Andy's timer stops. Andy is aware of you. Andy has opinions about you.
Hunger is six discrete bars; Andy loses one about every six real hours, awake or not. Let it empty completely and he starves. Feed from the pantry — Rock Bite and Sugar Cube are free starters; better foods cost crumbs and refill more. But overfeeding is real: keep stuffing a full Andy and he gets fat (at 4 overfeeds), then super fat (at 8), then at 10 he bursts. A fetched crumb is a safe snack that tops one bar and never overfeeds.
Bathing is a nerve minigame, playable once every 6 hours. Use the ▲/▼ ARROW KEYS to hold the water in the green middle band — you bank a crumb every 2 seconds it stays centred, and it drifts harder the longer you go. Let it run too HOT (past boiling) and Andy is boiled alive; let it sit too COLD and he ices over solid. Both are secret-achievement deaths.
Toss a crumb into the tank and Andy scurries to fetch it and bring it back — a safe way to top a hunger bar and pass the time. Aim it inside his reach and he'll chase crumb after crumb.
A skill minigame, once every 6 days. The rope swings faster and faster; every 7 clean jumps banks a crumb, and a streak of 100 earns 'Jump Rope Master.' It gets near-impossible around speed 105. Danger scales with speed: a rope moving over 60 that clips Andy knocks him out; over 90, it kills him outright.
Grab Andy and fling him and he'll spin through backflips and other tricks — big air with a safe landing earns style. Overcook it, though, and a hard landing is one of the six documented ends ('Excessive Velocity'). He would like you to know he knows how this usually goes.
Andy can be knocked out cold for three minutes — most memorably by a fetched crumb that lands squarely on his head, or a bath gone too cold, or a jump-rope clip over speed 60. While KO'd a big 'ANDY IS KNOCKED OUT' banner shows and the care buttons don't work. He can still starve while he's down, so the clock is not your friend.
Buy furniture from Aunty's and place it in DECOR mode by dragging it where you like. Wholesome pieces lift Andy's mood; the gag pieces (toy hammer, hamster wheel, bouncy ball, trampoline, disco ball, firework, and the unspeakable Mystery Pellet) are interactive and several are lethal. You can also stow furniture back into storage.
Hats cost real TIX, persist in your account across every Andy, and are equipped from the shop (the Gold Crown earns 'King Ant'). Sand re-colours the whole tank floor for 30 crumbs a shade. None of it affects survival — it's pure expression.

Rock Bite and Sugar Cube are free starter foods; the rest are bought with crumbs and delivered by mail. 'Refill' is roughly how much hunger one feeding restores. Everything marked DEADLY ends Andy on the first bite.
