Wow Cool World (“we”, “us”) is run by Wow Cool Games. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, who else can see it, and how to get rid of it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legalese.
Essentially nothing that identifies you. Our servers process your IP address transiently in order to serve pages and to rate-limit abuse, but we do not build a profile from it or store it as part of an account.
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We store only your subscription status, tier, renewal date, and the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers needed to manage the subscription.
If you are in the UK, EU or another region with similar law, our lawful bases are: contract (running your account and providing the games you asked for), legitimate interests (keeping the site secure, preventing cheating and abuse, and keeping fair leaderboards), and legal obligation (keeping records of payments).
We use a small number of service providers, and nobody else:
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect the safety of our players. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Your username, avatar, profile details, high scores, achievements, and anything you post to the forum or to profiles are visible to everyone, including people who are not signed in. Please do not put anything in a public field you would not want the world to read.
Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep payment records to satisfy tax and accounting obligations. Public posts may remain, but we will disconnect them from your identity on request.
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at johnwowcool@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law, so there is no “Do Not Sell My Info” process to opt into.
You must be at least 13 to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under that age has created an account, email johnwowcool@gmail.com and we will delete it and its data promptly. See also the children’s section of our Terms.
Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider and are never visible to us. Database access is protected by row-level security so that one player cannot read or alter another player’s private data. No system is perfect, but we take this seriously and fix issues quickly when they are reported.
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, they rely on recognised safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for significant changes we will say so on the site.
